How to make cucumber juice
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and then cut them, with the skin on, into small pieces. Put the pieces in an earthen ware or porcelain dish. Pour enough hot water over them to cover, put over a low heat and let simmer for half an hour or more. Be careful not to burn them. Strain the mixture through a colander.
OR
Cut cucumbers into very small pieces. Mash them to a pulp (you can put them in the blender or food processor) Squeeze through cheesecloth or a sieve. This method gives you the pure fresh juice, or essence of cucumber.

Skin Tips
After your morning coffee, save the grounds. Place in a small plastic container, mix with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Bring it in the shower with you and after your skin has been rinsed completely, take a small amount into your hands or you can use a bath sponge and place on any areas that have cellulite. You can use the extra treatment for knees, legs, elbows, and bottom of feet. Massage gently and let stand for at least 5 minutes. Shower well with warm water. Your skin will feel energized and incredibly soft and I def noticed that those teeny bits of cellulite that'd crept up on me disappeared!
Use baking soda as a gentle daily cleansing wash.
Almond oil can be used as a deep cleansing oil. Its non-drying and make your skin incredible soft.
Use diluted Apple Cider Vinegar as an astringent and face wash. Half vinegar/half water. Used neat on spots and pimples it speeds up the healing process.

Cleanser/Soap Substitute
2 tbsp of cornstarch
2 tbsp of glycerin
1/2 cup of water
A few drops of Eucalyptus Oil
Mix until smooth. Heat in a double boiler until thick and clear - it will have the consistency of pudding. Do not boil. Cool completely and use in place of soap to cleanse your skin. (If jelly is too thick, you may thin it by adding a little water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.)

Vaseline Cleansing Cream
15g white vaseline
15g beeswax

Cleansing Cream
(Good for removing heavy makeup as well)
1 measure anhydrous lanolin (check your chemist)
3 measure almond oil
1 measure rosewater (the chemist brand is really cheap BTW)
1/2 measure water soluble cream (aqueous cream is good)
In a double boiler (I use ss bowl over slightly smaller pan) slowly melt together lanolin and soluble cream stirring all the time. Add almond oil and rosewater, and remove from heat. Pour mixture into opaque jar and if you want add a few drops of flower oil as it cools to scent it. I've done it in measures so you can mix up as much or little as you want.

Herb Milk Face Wash
Take a cup of chopped rosemary, comfrey, violets, sage, lavender or scented geranium (all good for skin) and mix into 2 cups fresh milk (or powdered coz I'm a cheapskate!). Stand for 4 hours, then strain and store in the fridge. Use as a cleanser, using cottonwool. Even when it thickens or turns it can still be used. Make up small quantities frequently.
