Cooking Tips

To avoid lumpy batter (as well as lumpy white/cheese sauce or gravy) add a little milk at first and blrnd smooth before adding the rest of the liquids.

Put a couple of sugar lumps in your biscuit tin to absorb the moisture.

Dry cider can almost always be used in cooking instead of wine.

Revive a stale loaf of bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven at 230 degrees  for 5-10 minutes. Leave to cool in the foil before serving.
